Anyone can activate and test the Health Check feature in CCleaner, here’s how

Like it or not, CCleaner is the most popular junk cleaning tool available for Windows, we recently covered the Health Check feature which is available to few users for testing with CCleaner v5.62. If you want to try it out, you can with a registry trick and you can also revert to Easy Clean mode after exploring the preview feature, here’s how.

Please note that Health Check is the next iteration of Easy Clean that will be officially available with an additional set of tools in CCleaner with the next release.

piriformis recently released CCleaner 5.62.7538 made public and said it is enabling a new version of Easy Cleaning for some users to check out, the company also confirmed that it “is testing improvements in the presentation of product offerings during installation”, this could be due to the feedback effect that the company received to bundle the CCleaner browser with CCleaner.

The problem is that the CCleaner installer downloaded by users or offered by Piriform on their website is the same, however CCleaner when installed, the installer switches a registry key value in Windows to enable the feature for some. You can also do this by making changes to the registry and you can go back to CCleaner at any time with the Easy Clean function, here’s how.

Enable Health Check feature in CCleaner using Registry

1. Open the registry editor by running the “regedit” command in the Run dialog box

2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREPiriformCCleaner

3. In the right pane, you can see the string “(Cfg) HelathCheck ”

4. Double-click it and enter “1” in the Value data field.

5. Click ok, close the registry editor.

Restart CCleaner to see an introductory screen about the Health Check. To disable Health Check, change the string value mentioned in step 5 to 0.
