Avast fixes false positive issue with virus definitions update 110411-1

avast virus definitions update 110411-1 released yesterday contained a bug that resulted in many good sites flagging as infected in browsers. Avast confirms that sites scripted in a specific format (remote sites) are affected, but not local files on your computer.

It doesn’t matter if you are using Avast’s free, paid and internet security suites, if you are seeing regular browsing sites shown as bad sites, then Avast is to blame for the fake update and they quickly released a to repair after 45 minutes. Your Avast antivirus must have the version number 110411-2. You can click Update virus definitions manually if Avast does not update virus definitions automatically.
