Mozilla to launch Firefox 99.0 even today for Windows, Mac and Linux. Here’s what this release brings to the table in terms of new features, improvements, and bug fixes.
- Firefox now lets you toggle narration in Reader Mode with the keyboard shortcut “n”.
- Mozilla has added support for searching – with or without diacritics – in the PDF Viewer.
- Update strengthens Linux Sandbox: Processes exposed to web content no longer have access to the X Window System (X11).
- Credit card autofill is now supported in Germany and France.
The update, as usual, addresses several security fixes. If you’re using Zoom, the “video display doesn’t always work with group rooms in the gallery” has not been fixed by Mozilla in this release.
An unresolved issue with Zoom:
“Gallery mode in the Zoom Web client is now accessible in Firefox 99. Video display does not always work with group rooms in the gallery.
When a Zoom web client user enters a breakout room, the self-view and participants may not appear.”
The workaround requires the user to log out and re-enter the breakout room.
