Get Windows 7 Style Boot Menu Back to Windows 8 Dual Boot System

Reasons to Disable Metro Boot Menu and Switch to Windows 7 Style Boot Menu

The Win 8 boot menu is geared towards touchscreens with larger icons, so mouse support is offered and it is also slow to load compared to the boot menu that Windows 7 offers. With the Windows 7 boot menu, you can switch between two operating systems much faster.

To switch to Windows 7 you must go through the Windows 8 boot loader and when Windows 7 is selected you will be rebooted and Windows 7 will be loaded, this will be avoided when the Windows 7 boot loader is loaded. Using the program is simple, download the BootSwitch zip file and extract its contents to a folder and run the Bootswitch program on Windows 8. Here the program shows both standard and Metro boot screens, click on the Legacy screen on the left side to apply the Legacy Boot Loader as default for Windows 8 and other OS you have installed.

If you want the Metro boot screen to go back to Windows 8, click on the Metro screen in the UI. This behind-the-scenes program executes one of the following commands, depending on which screen you clicked on the screen.
