Using Facebook Messenger in Firefox
To start using Messenger for Firefox, click the “Log In” button on the sidebar and log in to Facebook with your email and password.
Messenger for Firefox offers Sidebar and icons that appear after you sign in. Access friend requests, messages and notifications from the Facebook icons visible in the top right corner of Firefox.
Hide Sidebar in Facebook Messenger for Firefox
The sidebar can be intrusive, it covers part of the browser on the right side, you can hide this by clicking on the Facebook icon and unchecking show sidebarsimilarly, you can also hide desktop notifications from that icon.
To send a message to a friend, click their name in the chat sidebar and type the message in the small chat window, the message you send will appear as part of the Facebook conversation.
To like an article on the site, click the Facebook Like button in the address bar, which appears in your news feed and timeline. You can always track your likes in your activity log.
You can manage popups, chat sounds, disable chat and exit Messenger for Firefox and access Help button by clicking the Settings icon in the lower right corner of the sidebar.
The privacy settings you’ve applied to your account will also apply to Messenger for Firefox.
Disable or disable Facebook Messenger for Firefox
Above, we told you how to hide the sidebar. You can completely hide Facebook Messenger and its icons by unchecking ”Facebook Messenger for Firefox” in the Firefox>Options menu.
