Microsoft has released the Internet Explorer 10 Release Preview for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2012, which are now available for download from the Internet Explorer 10 homepage. Before installing this on your computer, please remember that this is a Release Preview version where the final one should be released in the near future and IE10 Release Preview only works on Windows 7 SP1 or higher versions.
It’s really surprising that Microsoft announced that they will make IE 10 Release Preview available for Windows 7 in mid-November and released it today, I don’t know the reasons behind that.
Download IE10 Release Preview for Windows 7
By installing IE10 RP, you may get new features and security and performance improvements, but be warned! as you may encounter some bugs since its initial release and still in development. If you are an experiment junkie, go ahead and install this on your computer.
To install IE10 You must be using Windows 7 SP1 or higher, Windows 7 is just not enough
IE10 RP does not work on Windows XP, Vista and 7 but works on Windows 7 SP1 or higher. If you are using Windows 7 without Service Pack 1 installed, you first need to download and install SP1 on your computer, and later on, you can install the preview version of IE possibly without any problems. Check the system requirements below.
IE10 Release Preview System Requirements for Windows 7
- 1 GHz processor
- Windows 7 SP1 or higher
- 512 MB of memory
When will the final IE10 for Windows 7 be released?
Since Microsoft calls this preview version of IE10 as Release Preview, which can be treated as “Release Candidate”, we can expect the final IE10 to likely be available before the end of the year 2012.
Question Microsoft needs to answer why it took Microsoft a year and a half to release the IE10 RP when the first preview of the platform for Windows 7 was released in April 2011.
