Microsoft extends Windows 8.1 update installation deadline by another 30 days (June 10)

You still haven’t installed Windows 8.1 Update?, you have one more month to do so. If you are using Windows 8.1 (not Windows 8) at this time, Windows 8.1 Update KB 2919355 may already be installed if automatic updates are enabled, you can also install it manually. If you haven’t updated to the latest version, Microsoft is giving you another 30 days to do so, yes! The software giant has extended the deadline for installing Windows 8.1 Update, the latest date for this is June 10th.

The last date to install the Windows 8.1 update is June 10

“Having our customers running their devices with the latest updates is very important to us. And we’re committed to helping ensure their security. As a result, we’ve decided to extend the requirement for our consumer customers to update their devices to the Windows 8.1 Update to receive security updates for another 30 days until June 10”

Microsoft believe another extra month might be enough for others to update. “We are confident that within the next month, the majority of remaining customers who have not updated their devices to the Windows 8.1 Update will be able to do so.”

Note: You can confirm that you have installed the update if you notice the Search button next to your account name on the home screen.
