Microsoft Outlook for Android gets custom actions for notifications

Microsoft has released a new update for Outlook for Android to allow users to customize the actions that appear in notifications. You must be using the app version 4.2033.2 or later to see the “Custom Actions” option in Settings for this.

Whenever you receive an email, Outlook shows you a notification with options to Archive, Delete, or Reply to the message. Outlook App on Android now lets you customize these actions.

By using the new feature provided by Outlook, you can replace existing actions with a new one. For example, you can assign Mark Read or Flag or Read & Archive to Archive. Likewise, you can also change Delete to Archive or Reply.

To identify or make changes,

  1. Launch Microsoft Outlook for Android
  2. Open Settings > Mail > Notifications > Custom Actions
  3. And customize the actions for “Action one” and “Action two”, which contain the actions “Archive” and “Delete”, respectively.
