Microsoft says reserved users can also use the media creation tool for the update

Have you booked for the Windows 10 update and still waiting for the notification to appear? Wake up!, in an email sent to reserved users yesterday ((I got one too, since I’m also reserved to update for my PC)) when the free update popup arrives “your update notification may arrive in a few days or a few weeks”.

The email also includes this at the end:

ÔÇťAbsolutely can’t wait? Use the media creation tool to install immediately on one or more devices (recommended for tech-savvy users only).” Check your email to believe.

Microsoft also says this in an email sent to insiders: “You can also do a media-based upgrade through Microsoft’s software download site.”

Don’t take that ‘recommended for tech-savvy users only’ note, go ahead and install Windows 10 now without waiting.

Reserving your system does not necessarily mean that the upgrade is only possible with it, it means a pre-download of Windows 10 and ensures that your system is compatible with Windows 10. That’s all!.

If your Windows 7/8.1 system is genuine and has the necessary updates installed, then there will be no problem for you.
