Microsoft will retire the Reader app in favor of Edge

Microsoft’s Reader app, available from the Windows Store, lets you open and view PDF, XPS, and TIFF files. The app will be discontinued and will not be available for use on Windows 10 after February 15, 2018. Microsoft suggests using the Edge app for PDF, Windows XPS Viewer for XPS, and Windows Photos for TIFF files.

The Reader app has started reporting this at the top of the window and offers a link at the end of the message to open the current file in Edge.
