Opera 25 Developer Update enables bookmark manager

Test the new bookmarks and bookmarks manager in Opera. The Opera desktop team is working on a new favorites manager -which is behind the Favorites flag and not turned on by default- for a while now, today Opera 25 developer update was released with this flag activated by default it means that the new bookmark manager and bookmark feature are available for testing.

Opera 25 gets bookmarks functionality

After installing this update, the ‘Favorites’ item will appear in the Opera Menu. Visit any page and click ‘Heart’ icon to bookmark, ‘added to bookmarks’ will be shown and respective thumbnail of that bookmark will appear under ‘unrated bookmarks’.

All bookmarks you’ve marked will appear by default in thumbnail view in bookmark manager, if you don’t like it, switch to list view using the option provided at the top of this page. You can right click on a bookmark and ‘add to speed dial’.

You can organize bookmarks by dragging them into the New Folder you create or existing ones such as Reading List, Videos, Shopping and Travel.

Check what the imported favorites folder has? Opera imported all default browser bookmarks silently after it was installed.

You can enable or disable the bookmarks bar by selecting ‘Show bookmarks bar’ in the Opera Menu > Bookmarks

two new flags

Opera teases us with new features they are working on, two new flags are available in the latest version, they are: tabs menu and favorite sharing.

Tabs menu: “Activates the tabs menu which provides another view of all the open tabs of the current window.”

Bookmark sharing: “Share bookmarks with bookmark manager”.

After enabling the above flag, when you click the ‘Share’ link in the bookmark manager, (then the ‘upload’ button) ‘a snapshot of the selected bookmarks will be uploaded to Opera Share and given the name you typed. You can then share a link to it.

These features are not currently working.
