Slash and backslash (“/”,”), which one to use and when?

Novice users can easily get confused which slash to use between backslash (/) and forward slash () in web addresses (double slash appears after http://) or in file paths on Windows, you can see these two forward slashes in your keyboard.

Backslash, is used as separator in Windows for file paths like C:Program FilesMozilla Firefox, where as forward slash, / used as separator in dates (e.g. 11/27/2011) for ( and or or) as an abbreviation, as a mathematical symbol used separates the numerator and denominator into a fraction (eg 3/4).

Mostly we use slash / in web addresses, for example
